All European citizens can now chat directly with Members of the European Parliament (MEP) thanks to the new Tweetyourmep system launched at the end of September throughout the European Union. The system was presented to the French public by the MEP Sandrine Bélier, a staunch advocate of new technologies, during a conference at the Fondation Hippocrène in Paris, attended by the Efus.
The Efus, who strives to develop exchanges with European institutions, welcomes this initiative that represents a step towards direct democracy.
Tweetyourmep offers a dedicated web site where people can directly “meet” MEPs. Launched by the Touteleurope.eu platform, it covers the EU’s 27 Member States, and is available in four languages: English, French, German and Dutch.
