Debate “The city at night” in the framework of the International City Festival: 21-23 September 2001 in Créteil (France)
In the framework of the ‘International City Festival’ in Créteil, the EFUS organised a debate on the 22th of September 2001 entitled ‘The city at night’, so as to show the dimensions of security and the feeling of insecurity. The debate introduced specific issues related to cities at night, like the work of public prevention and security services during night (educators, proximity police etc). It has also examined concrete strategies that can be adopted by the cities such as partnerships between the public and private sector, new jobs that respond to the demands of inhabitants (night correspondents) and new dispositions such as curfews.
