September 2022 – Efus will be present at the European Week of Regions and Cities (#EURegionsWeek) organised in Brussels and online by the European Committee of the Regions, on 10-13 October, through an online exhibition stand where it will present its activities and projects on the issue of youth empowerment.
One of the flagship events of the European Committee of the Regions, the European Week of Regions and Cities is a “an annual four-day event during which cities and regions showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union cohesion policy, and prove the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance.” It is Europe’s largest annual event dedicated to urban policy.
This year’s event will focus on youth empowerment as well as on three other themes, which are all interlinked: the green transition, the digital transition, and territorial cohesion.
Fostering inclusive environments for young people
Efus has actively participated in the past editions of the European Week of Regions and Cities in order to strengthen exchanges between the local and regional level of governance on the one hand and the European on the other in matters of urban security, and to showcase its members’ innovative practices.
Efus’ online exhibition stand will be dedicated to the topic of Local young voices for social cohesion and inclusion: the pillars of the future of Europe. This will be a great opportunity to showcase innovative practices borne out of the European projects in which Efus has recently participated, or is currently participating, such as LOUD, MATCH-SPORT, BRIDGE, and BeSecure-Feel Secure.
Fostering inclusive urban environments for young people to build societies that are socially cohesive and thus provide security for all is at the heart of Efus’ activities. Local authorities, with EU support, are best placed to empower young citizens to co-produce actions contributing to this objective.
Efus’ exhibition stand during the four-day event will be an experience and knowledge-sharing platform.
