We are very sad to learn about the passing of Charles Gautier. The European Forum for Urban Security joins the French Forum (FFSU) to pay tribute to Charles Gautier, who was Senator of the Loire-Atlantique, Mayor of Saint-Herblain, and President of the FFSU. With utmost respect, we value his commitment towards citizens and the promotion of the humanist values he had at heart.

Charles Gautier was President of the French Forum for Urban Security (FFSU) from 2007 to 2013. During his mandate at the helm of this association of local authorities from all sides of the political spectrum, Mr Gautier showed open-mindedness, tolerance and a great ability to listen. He also showed remarkable attention to the daily worries of his colleagues in a particular occasion when a topic was the object of a useless controversy.
The Executive Committee of the FFSU offers its condolences to Mr Gautier’s family and to all the fellow citizens of this great democrat, in Saint-Herblain.
