1. General Information :

Le Val-d’Oise is a department in the Île-de-France region. It was created in 1968 after the Seine-et-Oise department was broken up. It constitutes the Northern part of the outer suburbs of Paris, and it is the smallest department in these suburbs. It is characterised by its diversity as on the one hand its natural environment attracts tourists, particularly its two regional natural parks, and on the other hand it has highly urbanised areas, including  the first airport in continental Europe (Paris Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle) and dynamic economic hubs with at national and interational level (9 competitive clusters).
