Plataforma de Ciudades (Platform of Cities) is a network of European and Latin-American local authorities working on urban security and quality of life through the exchange of practices and ideas. Politicians, academics and technical experts also contribute to the Platform.
Its objective is to “constitute a political and technical exchange forum between various local governments and organisms that contribute to the development of security policies centered on urban planification and on the promotion of social and territorial cohesion.”
The Platform of Cities’ strategic partner is the provincial council (diputación) of Barcelona, in Spain, and the co-organiser is the city of Peñalolén, in Chile. The other members are Montevideo (Uruguay), Godoy Cruz and Rosario (Argentina), La Paz (Bolivia) and Medellín (Colombia).
