1. General Information

Sant Boi de Llobregat is a town in the Barcelona province in Catalonia, Spain, located aside the Llobregat river.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the municipality of Sant Boi reached 5,000 inhabitants and was the most populated of the region, with its population working essentially in the agricultural sector. Before the Civil War (1936), the town already had 10,000 inhabitants, but the city was mainly transformed in the 1960s and 1970s, with large migratory movements attracted by the creation of industries. In 1955 the population was about 13,000 inhabitants, a figure that multiplied by five in 20 years.
