Madrid is the capital of Spain, it is also the largest city of the Madrid Community. It is the site of most of Spain’s political institutions, including the Royal Palace, the seat of the government and the parliament. It is the third town of European Union in terms of population, just behind London and Berlin, with a population of more than 3 million inhabitants. It is also the base of several institutions including the World Tourism Organisation, the Organisation of Ibero-American States, the Royal Spanish Academy, and the Cervantes Institute.
