Melanie Schlüter is a sociologist and educational scientist. She currently works as a research associate at the Criminological Research (KFS) and the Competence Center of Urban Security (KURBAS) of the State Office for Criminal Investigation of Lower Saxony in the EU-funded project Cutting Crime Impact (CCI). Her research interest focuses on crime prevention, fear of crime, subjective safety in public space and how to measure and mitigate citizens’ feelings unsafety. Further research topics are radicalisation, extremism, youth, socialisation.
