Founder and President of the association “Ciudadanos Por una Causa en Común”, Mexico

María Elena Morera Mitre has been a Mexican activist for public security issues since 2001. She is a national and international lecturer, columnist and opinion leader. From 2003 to 2009, she presided over the civic association United Mexico Against Delinquency. She is currently president of Cause en Común, a civic organization dedicated to the construction of citizenship, to promoting relationships of trust and participation between society and its institutions, and to mechanisms for transparency and accountability of the government that strengthen the rule of law in Mexico. It also stands out as the only organization that evaluates and monitors the police development of the 33 corporations (32 of the state and the Federal Police) in the country.
