EU-POLNET

Operating within Efus, EU-POLNET is a European network of local police forces that aims to develop local police forces’ expertise and promising practices through peer-to-peer exchanges, and to promote the role of local police forces in urban security at a European and international level.

Objectives
  • To promote the role and doctrines of local police at European and international levels
  • To organise training sessions & field visits among local and regional police forces
  • To foster the exchange of promising practices among local and regional police forces
  • To develop partnerships between police forces and local crime prevention services
Priorities
  • Making public spaces safer
  • Police-population relations and community policing
  • Diversity within local police forces 
  • The attractiveness of the profession (recruitment, training and retention) 
  • Links with all local non-police services involved in the security chain
