EFUS’ Executive Director Michel Marcus has been invited for a presentation on European policy and legislation in the field of organised crime. This contribution will be presented at the European Serious Organised Crime Conference, organised by the city of Liverpool and Merseyside police on March 4-6, 2008.
Held over three days at the new Arena and Convention Centre Liverpool (ACC Liverpool), this inaugural European conference on serious organised crime aims to build links and capacity and discuss the development of police forces and techniques in tackling money laundering, gun crime, human trafficking and counterfeiting. It will look at relevant policy, both from the UK and multilaterally. The conference will also examine the need for cross-border co-operation and information sharing, and showcase best practice case studies demonstrating the successes of partnership approaches.
Bringing together leading experts from across Europe as well as the UK, the conference will provide a key opportunity for delegates at all levels of knowledge of approaches to tackling serious and organised crime to learn how to apply and implement new procedures and cultures to achieve real change in attitudes and behaviour.
