The VISIONARY website provides information contributing to the prevention of violence at school by targeting different groups, such as teachers, parents, pupils, local elected officials, experts, etc. The link is www.bullying-in-school.info
It is available in various languages -English, French, German, Romanian, Spanish, Danish, Finnish, and Portuguese- in order to reach a large audience.
“The site aims to help all those who are looking for a database on violence in schools, case studies, practical examples of prevention, studies and other resources available on the internet. Moreover, it offers a platform to users interested in exchanging analysis and experiences with experts from several countries,” says Prof. Dr. Reinhold S. Jäger, Director of the Science and Education Research Centre of the University of Koblenz-Landau, in Germany.
The website also includes ‘discussion blogs’ based on the five online conferences of the Visionary project, which have each gathered about 30 participants from various countries.
Several themes are covered:
– How to fight against new forms of violence in schools (happy slapping, cyberbullying…)
– How to carry out an audit on violence at school
– Is it necessary to install video surveillance in schools to fight violence?
