Many topics of the 7th European Conference on Sustainable Cities, that will take place in Geneva from 17 to 19 April 2013, are closely linked to those developed in December 2012 during Efus’ conference on the future of prevention. They are also promoted by the Manifesto of Cities for Security. This conference will bring together local and national authorities, European institutions and United Nations organisations, as well as businesses, research organisations and associations from all over Europe. A wide range of topics linked to urban sustainability will be addressed during three days through 30 workshops and a choice of 15 field visits. Particularly in line with the work of Efus are the workshops on “Equality and diversity, a sustainable investment for local government”, “Building local resilience”, “Engaging the citizen as facilitator for sustainable urban development” and “The local importance of human rights: implementation, respect and execution”.

The pre-programme of the 7th European Conference on Sustainable Cities is now available online.
