Paris, France, March 2021 – On 15 March, members of the European Forum for Urban Security (Efus) gathered online on the occasion of the network’s statutory General Assembly, and voted to renew a third of its Executive Committee members. Made up of around thirty members, the Executive Committee determines Efus’ political and strategic orientations and represents the network with institutional interlocutors. Efus members also renewed the network’s vice-presidency, composed of four members, as well as its presidency.
The cities of Berlin (Germany), Brussels (Belgium), Cologne (Germany), Freiburg (Germany), Paris (France) and Xàbia (Spain) as well as Unione della Romagna Faentina (Italy) were elected as new members of the Executive Committee.
The cities of Barcelona (Spain), Brno (Czechia), Matosinhos (Portugal), Setubal (Portugal) and the Communauté d’Agglomération de La Rochelle (France) and Emilia-Romagna Region (Italy) were reelected.
Other members of the Executive Committee are: the cities of Düsseldorf (Germany), Gdansk (Poland), Lisbon (Portugal), Malmö (Sweden), Riga (Latvia), Zaragoza (Spain).
The cities of Mannheim (Germany) and Nice (France) were elected as Vice-Presidents, joining the Generalitat de Catalunya (Spain) and the City of Rotterdam (Netherlands), which were re-elected as Vice-Presidents.
The City of Liège (Belgium), represented by its Mayor Willy Demeyer, was re-elected as President.
The national forums, which have a consultative status within the Executive Committee, have the following cities for presidents: Essen (Germany), Lomme (France), Madrid (Spain), Prato (Italy), Saint-Josse-ten-Noode (Belgium).
