He has a background in human factors and ergonomics and, for more than 15 years, he has investigated resilience in complex work systems and high-risk, high-consequence environments such as firefighting or cyber security. In recent years, his main focus has been on crisis and disaster management, with parallel research conducted on the topic of e-participation.
