Nordbruch served as a research associate at the Institut de recherches et d\u2019\u00e9tudes sur le monde arabe et musulman (research institute on the Arab and Muslim world) in Aix-en-Provence and at the Georg-Eckert-Institut \u2013 Leibniz-Institut \u2013 for international textbook research in Braunschweig. From 2008 to 2011, he served as an assistant professor at the Centre for Contemporary Middle East Studies at the University of Southern Denmark. His work focuses on youth cultures, racism, and Islamism, as well as the prevention of radicalisation in education and youth work.
