This department encompasses a variety of GIZ\u2019s core thematic areas such as urbanisation, democracy, public administration and finance, rule of law, security, peace and development-oriented emergency aid.<\/p>\n<p>Joachim has worked as governance and public sector management advisor and manager for several long term programmes in Africa and Latin America (e.g. Guatemala, Ecuador, South Africa and Benin. His areas of expertise include: overall public management reforms, decentralization and intergovernmental relations, public finance, and peace and security (including violence prevention and urban development).
