Since then, he has advised more than 50 governments in Europe and across the world.\u00a0 His recent book \u201cSmarter Crime Control\u201d is a guide to politicians on how to invest in effective crime prevention. The book is also already available in Spanish and Chinese. Irvin has won numerous international awards, particularly for his role as the founding director of the International Centre for Prevention of Crime and as a pioneer of the UN General Assembly resolution that recognized basic rights for victims of crime.
