Elizabeth JOHNSTONExecutive Director
A dual French and American citizen, Elizabeth Johnston is Executive Director of Efus since October 2011, after having been Deputy Executive Director for 10 years. She manages Efus technical staff, and implements the strategic orientations decided by Efus Executive Committee and President. Elizabeth holds a degree in Political Sciences and Urban Policies, and has spent her whole career working on urban policies. Also, she recently worked at the World Bank in Washington as an expert in the prevention of violence.



Philippe BRUNEAUAdministrative & Financial Director
A French national, Philippe Bruneau is in charge of the financial management of Efus since 2007. He supervises the overall financial management of the association, as well as accounting and administrative management.



Carla NAPOLANOProject Manager
Holding a degree in Urban and Spatial Planning of the University of Venice, Carla is in charge, among others, of the Goal project on violence in sports. She is also in charge of Efus relations with a certain number of countries such as Belgium, Italy, and Spain. She is also in charge of the 2012 international conference of Aubervilliers-Saint-Denis. Over the past few years, Carla led the European projects “Towards a European Masters in Urban Security”, “Innovative Strategies in the Prevention of Reoffending”, and “Democracy, Cities and Drugs”. Carla is of Italian nationality.



Sebastian SPERBERProject Manager

A German national, Sebastian Sperber is Project Manager since 2008, and is currently in charge of the following themes, among others: security audits, security technologies and fundamental rights, and street violence. He is also responsible of developing the network in Austria, Belgium, Germany, Hungary, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, and Eastern Europe. Sebastian holds a degree from the Political Sciences Institute of Paris (Sciences Po), and from the University of Mannheim (Germany). Prior to joining Efus, Sebastian has been Project Manager during four years at the Council of Europe, where he worked on social cohesion and local democracy.



Mark BURTON-PAGEProject Manager
A French national with a British background, Mark Burton-Page follows, among other projects, Falprev on the prevention of reoffending, and Safer Drinking Scenes on the prevention of binge drinking in public spaces. He is also responsible of relations with members and partners of Efus in Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. Mark has a degree in Political Sciences and Management of Local Authorities from Paris University. He joined Efus in 2008, after having worked as a project manager for the French Forum for Urban Security.



Maye SECKProject Manager
A Senegalese national, Maye Seck holds a degree in Risks Management from the University of Paris-10, and a Masters in Political Sciences/Management of Conflicts in Public Spaces. She has been Project Manager at the French Forum since 2007. Now based in Dakar, she joined the European Forum in January 2011 as a Project Manager, in charge of the European programme on local governance in Côte d’Ivoire, and of the development of the Senegalese Forum, and the African Forum for Urban Security.



Joana JUDICEEuropean Projects Officer
Holding a degree in International Relations from the Social and Political Sciences Institute of the University of Lisbon, as well as a degree from the Robert Schuman University of Strasbourg, and from the Centre for Diplomatic and Strategic Studies of Paris, Joana is in charge of the projects that are co-financed by the European Union. She supervises the development of these projects and liaises with European institutions. Joana is Portuguese.



Elsa FONTANILLECommunications Officer
A French national, Elsa Fontanille is in charge of the communication strategy of Efus, and of its implementation. She also supervises the communication of some of the projects led by Efus. She holds a degree in Corporate and Institutional Communications from the University of Paris-Sorbonne. She also studied in Milan, in Italy.



Marie-Laure SANGHARE2012 Conference Project Manager
With a degree in European public law from the University of Nancy, and a degree in NGOs Management from the University of Créteil, Marie-Laure is in charge of the organisation of the international conference “Security, Democracy and Cities: the Future of Prevention”, which will take place in Aubervilliers and Saint-Denis on December 12-14, 2012. Prior to joining the Forum in December 2011, she managed various associations, and organised international conferences. She is a French national.



Martina TARLADirection Assistant
An Italian national, Martina Tarlà has a license in Political sciences and a Masters in Human Rights and Peace Intitutions and Policies from the University of Padua, in Italy. She also studied one year in Geneva, in Switzerland. As Office Manager of the Forum since April 2012, in replacement of Céline Rollet, who will be back in September 2012, she organises the daily work of the team, and follows the social life of the network (organising general assemblies and executive committees, as well as being in contact with members). Prior to joining Efus, Martina was an intern at the Permanent Representation of Italy at the European Union, and at the Juvenile Court of Venice, in Italy.



Céline ROLLETDirection Assistant
A French national, Céline Rollet is Efus Office Manager. She organises the daily work of the team, follows the life of the network (organising general assemblies, executive committes, and other internal events), and contributes to the general organisation of the association. Celine holds a degree in Foreign Languages (English and Spanish), and a Masters in e-learning. She is will be back in September 2012, and her position is currently held by Martina Tarlá.



Eric LOUSTAUNEAUAccountant Assistant
A French national, Eric Loustauneau is Accounting Assistant at Efus since 1998. He holds a
technical baccalauréat.

Michel MARCUSAdviser
Michel Marcus is one of the founders of the European Forum for Urban Security, which he managed as Executive Director from 1987 to 2011. A French national, he is an honorary magistrate. Apart from his role in Efus, Michel Marcus collaborates as an external expert with numerous European and international institutions such as the European Commission and the United Nations. He now is Executive Director of the French Forum for Urban Security, and is a special adviser to the Efus.



Nathalie BOURGEOIS Copy editor
A French national, Nathalie Bourgeois is in charge of Efus written communication. She writes and edits the texts published on the website and in print. She holds a degree in Philosophy from the Sorbonne University, and a Journalism degree from the Centre de Formation des Journalistes (CFJ) of Paris. Prior to joining Efus in 2010, Nathalie has been a reporter for the American press agency Associated Press, and editorial director in several communication and publishing agencies in Paris and Madrid (Spain).
